My P90X Results

Here They Are!
OK, I’ve said it before in my blogs, the hardest part of this whole journey has been putting pictures of my fat butt out there for everyone to see. It was also the most motivational thing I’ve done. Once those pictures got out there, I new I would have to stick with it or I could never face myself in the mirror again. So here they are in one location so you can see my progress through my first 90 days. I am not ripped like the guys on the video. But that is my fault. I have not been perfect on the diet. At times I would cheat because it was easy, and then to make up for it I think I cut my calories too low sometimes. That said, at 45, I am starting to see the first hint of ab lines. Not too bad if you ask me. I have lost over 35 pounds and 3″ in my waist in less than 90 days. I actualy go outside with my shirt off again. I have more energy than I’ve had in 10 years and I just feel better and younger. My wife says I even look younger. The fact of the matter is, it was not near as hard as I thought it would be. Don’t get wrong, the workouts are intensely brutal (in a good way). But all you have to do is commit. After the first week, I started feeling and seeing results. From that point, there was no stopping me. If you decide to do P90X and commit to the program, you will succeed!

OK, that’s 90 days! You can’t really see much change betwen 60 and 90 days, but I think the biggest problem was my photographer (14 yr old son with much better things to do:)). I was down a bit more in weight and the love handles are a bit smaller. Another problem probably has something to do with going on vacation and blowing my diet! Anyway, I am much happier at at 214 than I was at 250! And feel 100% better. It took me a lot longer than 90 days to get fat so it is just going to take a bit longer to get unfat. Any feedback would be appreciated.

So What’s Next?
First off, I am no where near done. But I am deffinitely not going back to the way I was before. I am going to keep eating clean and moving. After our vacation the wife has decided we need to buy kayaks, and I have started running again. I feel so much better that I do not ever want to go back. As for my routine, I haven’t decided yet. I may just do another round of P90X or try one of the other great Beachbody routines. Probably either Insanity or Turbo Fire. I may even do a hybrid workout where I use P90X with another of the programs. But anyway you look at it, I will keep moving!
Important Update
The decision has been made I just received my Insanity this wekend. I am planning on formally starting the program in a week or 2. In the mean time, I have already done the fit test (Whew!!) and am going to be lifting heavy at the gym and “trying out” some of the Insanity routines just to get used to them and see if I can survive!
