Insanity Fit Test 2 – Getting Better With Age

OK, I did my second Insanity fit test last night and was actually pleased with the results. As you can see in the chart below, I improved in all of the exercises except for the switch kicks. But I have a theory on that. I think I miscounted on the first test. It is almost imposible to count those for yourself. About half way through you tend to stop thinking “…41, 42, 43, 44…” and start thinking ” Oh, God, When will this end, I hope I don’t pass out”. So last night I had my son count. He got 107 and I was going absolutley as hard and fast as I could. So I will have him count for me on all the rest of the fit test. I was thrilled with the power jumps, I can’t believe I got 38. Those are brutal. I should be getting more on the globe jumps, suicide jumps and pushup jacks, but by the time you get through the first half, you are just spent. I did notice that I had more energy further into the fit test this time. On the first test, I was having to stop periodically for a few seconds by the time I got to power jumps. This time I made it about half way through globe jumps before I felt like collapsing. My favorite move is the very last last one, the low plank obliques. That one deffinitely hits the love handles. But of course, by the time I get to it, I am moving about half speed. I do miss the resistance training from P90X but I am going to try and work in some of those workouts on weekends. I don’t think I am quite ready to get up at 5:00 to squeeze in two-a-days.

I would like to take this moment to extend a challenge to all the people out there that may be younger than me and are not impressed with these scores for an old man. If you can do better, prove it. I’ll be there as your coach to help keep you motivated if you need that. If you get Insanity through this site, and do the routine, you can post your fit test results here along with before and after pics if you want to. Let’s see what you got!
